Welcome to the GDA Grand Prix! In this event, you will be tested on multiple skill sets such as team work, strategy and most importantly, dueling.
IntroductionLet me explain how this event will work, you have already made a team of 3. You will need to place you team in order from 1st member, 2nd member, and 3rd member. You will be dueling up against other teams to see who will advance to the next round. Every team will duel the corresponding position of the other teams. For example:
Team 1 Team 2
Member 1: --------Duels him-------->Member 1:
Member 2: --------Duels him-------->Member 2:
Member 3: --------Duels him-------->Member 3:
So picking your roster order can be very crucial for your victory or downfall in this event. The point of the duel between teams is to finish off each of there members. Let me explain how this will work in another visual example:
Tod, member 1 from the first team, beats Drake, member 1 of the second team, so now Tod will duel Jeff, Member 2 of the second team. Here's the catch though, since Tod won his duel he's going to have to face Jeff starting out with the remaining life points from his duel with Drake.
VISUALStart of Member 1 vs Member 1:
Tod (8000LP) vs. Drake (8000LP)
Tod won with 2600LP remaining
Drake is out
Start of Member 1 vs Member 2:
Tod (2600LP) vs Jeff (8000LP)
Jeff won with 7900LP remaining
Tod is out
Start of Member 2 vs Member 2:
Josh (8000LP) vs Jeff (7900LP)
And so on and so on, you get the idea. The team that wins this event will go up against each other in a round robin tournament to see who the best of the best are. Now for the rules of this event!
Note: The winner will have the same LP from the last duel.
RulesAll duels will always be hosted as a single duel, never match. the reason for this is so that when you win a duel and battle the next member, you can start with the remaining LP as the last. Match duels wouldnt work with the idea.
No cheating, this means altering the original playing style of the tournament to help yourself OR another player win.
You can change decks, but only between rounds (not duels) there is no locked decks for this event.
Screenshots of the duel MUST be provided for proof of ending LP and proof of who won, failure to provide screenshots will result in a confirmation of both LP and win from the losing duelist. If a score/winner is not agreed on then the duel will have to be re-done
In the event of a disconnection during a duel, you get a auto loss. sadly this cannot be avoided but it keeps a fair balance during the event.
In the result of a ruling dispute, always call a DN admin if not settled right away. Immediately after calling a DN Admin, go back to GDA and get a staff member to come in and settle the argument. If you wish to search outside links for help, please use POJO as they are the most reliable source when it comes to YGO disputes.
Sept. 2013 ban list will apply through out this entire event, even if the event carry's on to the new ban list in January.
No stalling for time, if a member of your team (for either team) that is suppose to duel does not show up for between a 48 time period of when they're suppose to then they will get a automatic loss.
Have fun and enjoy the Grand Prix!
Note: If you have a September Banlist deck, free free to use it, but many decks are banned.
